Empathy is not the absence of standards
Empathy doesn’t mean lowering the bar. It means seeing the person who has to clear it — their context, their pressures, their potential — and leading them there with clarity instead of fear.
When people feel understood, they stop protecting themselves and start contributing. That’s not soft. That’s the most practical advantage a team can have.
