Somewhere along the way I expected healing to have a finish line — a day I’d wake up and be done. It doesn’t work like that. Healing is less a destination than a practice of returning.
Returning, again and again
We return to ourselves on the hard days. We return to our people when we’d rather withdraw. We return to the quiet belief that growth is still possible, even when the evidence is thin.
Showing up anyway — imperfectly, tenderly, honestly — is not a failure to be fully healed. It is the healing.
If today is a returning kind of day, let that be enough. It is.
